The Northern Aero Alliance is a collaboration of aviation industry and agency stakeholders centered in Duluth, Minnesota. It is the vision of the Alliance to increase the economic prominence of northeast Minnesota’s and northwest Wisconsin’s aeronautics stakeholders by providing a common voice and working collaboratively to enhance industry-wide success.

The Northern Aero Alliance would like to congratulate IKONICS Corporation and its CEO, Bill Ulland, on being presented the Innovation Award at the 20th Annual Joel Labovitz Entrepreneurial Success Awards on April 25, 2012. Since 1993, the Joel Labovitz Entrepreneurial Success Awards have recognized small business owners who have dared to dream, taken risks and invested in the region. This year's award recipients, honored as part of Small Business Week, were selected from an impressive roster of 58 nominees from throughout the Twin Ports and Arrowhead Region.

An international leader in imaging technologies, IKONICS introduces products and process solutions for a diverse array of imaging markets. The company has developed game-changing technology, including its patented digital texturing technology (DTX), for industrial companies, including Boeing, General Motors, and Airbus.

Northern Aero Alliance Welcomes New Members
S & K Aviation has joined the Northern Aero Alliance. S & K provides aircraft maintenance and repair at their location at the Richard I. Bong Memorial Airport in Superior, Wisconsin. Click Here to learn more about S & K Aviation.

The Commemorative Air Force-Lake Superior Detachment 101 is a new member of the Northern Aero Alliance. They are preserving military aircraft history at their facility at the Duluth Airport. Click Here for more information.

IWIS Incorporated of Duluth has developed the a new airport security device. The POSSE (Point Of Sale Security Examiner) is a patented, state of the art, UL listed device used to assist in identifying security features incorporated in currency, checks, money orders, credit cards, and identification cards in five seconds or less.
